Who we are

Centennial Whisky is operated by Caldera Distilling Inc. through its Highwood Distillers operation in High River, Alberta. This policy explains how we handle personal information. It is governed by Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

When you use the enquiry form, we receive the name, email, phone number, and message you provide. If you order a bottle, our commerce provider collects what's needed to process and ship it: name, shipping and billing address, contact details, and payment information. Payment is handled by our processor; we do not store full card numbers.

The site keeps a small flag in your browser so the age gate remembers you confirmed your age and doesn't reappear on every page. We do not run third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or fingerprinting.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to enquiries, fulfil and ship orders, verify legal drinking age, meet our legal and regulatory obligations, and guard against fraud or misuse. We rely on your consent for these purposes, consistent with PIPA. We do not send marketing emails or add you to a newsletter unless you ask us to.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the site and fulfil orders, such as our hosting and forms provider and our commerce and payment processor, and only so they can perform those services for us. We may disclose information where required by law or in response to a lawful request.

Storage outside Alberta

Some service providers store or process data on servers outside Alberta, including in the United States. Where that happens, your information may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, and other authorities in those jurisdictions under their laws. By using the site, you consent to this transfer.

Retention and safeguards

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as the law requires, then dispose of it securely. We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect it.

Your rights

Under PIPA you may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, and withdraw consent (subject to legal or contractual limits). Email our Privacy Officer at info@caldera.ca and we will respond within the timelines the Act requires. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Age

This site is intended for adults of legal drinking age and is not directed to anyone below it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under legal drinking age.
